Jennifer Whitaker, LPTA, LMT, NMT moved to Alabama in 1989 to pursue a soccer scholarship at Huntingdon College.  After moving to Birmingham in 1992 to complete her education at the University of Alabama Birmingham, Jennifer began working at HealthSouth, where her career in physical therapy bagan.

Jennifer received her Associates of Science Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant in 1997 from Jefferson State Community College.  After working with Sports Medicine patients in inpatient and outpatient therapy, Jennifer piqued an interest in manual therapy.  In 2001, she furthered her career by attending Red Mountain Institute for the Healing Arts.  There she received a certification in Clinical Massage as well as Neuromuscular Massage. 

In 2001, Jennifer opened a private massage practice in Homewood, Alabama.  She also continued her physical therapy career at HealthSouth, becoming Director of Rehab in 2003.  During that time she managed a staff of 20 and coordinated therapy for the general population and elite and professional athletes. In 2005, Jennifer decided to pursue self-employment and focus on building her massage practice and teaching.  She began teaching Anatomy and Neuromuscular Therapy at Red Mountain Institute to future massage therapists.

In May 2006, Jennifer joined the staff of Premiere Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine to maintain her clinical therapy skills and provide her manual skills for the patients at Premiere.

Jennifer's specialties include orthopedic and sports physical therapy, orthopedic massage, and has attended over 100 additional hours of orthopedic massage continuing education.  Her interests include soccer, running reading and when she has time, taking care of her roses.
