Chris Fountain has been practicing physical therapy since 2001. Before coming to Alabama, Chris was born and raised in Massachusetts. He attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut where he received his Bachelors in Science in Biology followed by a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. He graduated in 2001 and then moved to Birmingham Alabama to begin his career as a Physical Therapist.
During his time as a student, he had many opportunities to work with many different populations. He traveled to many different locations to promote the most valuable learning experience in order to provide the best quality of care to all patients. One of his clinical internships was at HealthSouth Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He accepted a full time position there in 2001.
Chris served as staff therapist for 2 years before becoming Clinical Coordinator. While at HealthSouth, Chris was promoted to the Clinical Golf Specialist for his leadership and dedication to the Golf Performance Program. Due to his leadership, Chris was asked to serve as the staff physical therapist with the PGA tour which provided him with insightful opportunities in working with elite level golfers.
In late 2004, Chris joined Champion Sports Medicine where he continued to work with orthopedic and sports medicine populations. He became Facility Director and Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) serving as clinical instructor to students from all over the US. He is also a regular presenter for the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI).
In 2007, Chris went on to achieve his Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) at the University of St. Augustine in Florida. This provides him with additional certifications in manual therapy especially in orthopedics and spine therapy.
Chris joined Premiere Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine in 2009. Chris' goal as a physical therapist with Premiere is to provide the best quality of care possible to all patients with different needs and diagnoses in a wonderful, caring, state of the art environment.
Chris' specialties include: Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Manual Therapy and Spine, evaluation and treatment of throwing athletes, and golf related injuries.
